Due to the backlog of applications created by COVID lockdown, Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada has implemented a 2 step study permit approval process for those beginning their studies in Fall. Please read details of this below.
The first process demands three minimum requirements:
- Acceptance into a Canadian designated learning institution
- Have sufficient proof of funds
- Meet all other study permit requirements
Upon meeting these, the applicant will be allowed to commence studies online from overseas (and this time will count towards their post graduate work permit- if they are successful with getting their student visa eventually).
The second part of the process will require the admissibility requirements to be met (biometrics, police records, medicals).
Persons seeking to take advantage of this must submit their application by September 15, 2020.
